Enjoying Summer in Our Managed Communities

With summer in full swing, many of us are making the most of the lighter evenings, blooming gardens and greener open spaces. Across the communities we manage, this season is one of the busiest times of year for our estate and grounds teams so you might have noticed more activity from them out and about, around your development.

At Preim, we tailor our management approach to the seasons, and summer brings both opportunities and important responsibilities to ensure our shared spaces stay safe, welcoming and well cared for.

Grounds Teams in Full Flow

Summer’s warmth accelerates growth, which is why our grounds staff are especially active right now. You may have seen them mowing, weeding or tending flowerbeds.

Their day-to-day tasks at this time of year often include:

• Regular lawn mowing and edging
• Keeping paths and communal spaces weed-free
• Trimming hedges and shaping borders
• Refreshing summer planting displays
• Removing dead foliage and topping up bark or soil

 We know how important well-maintained green spaces are, not just for appearances but for the enjoyment and wellbeing of residents. That’s why we also take care to maintain wildflower areas where possible and support local wildlife habitats.

If your estate has a play park or recreational area, you might also see team members inspecting equipment and arranging specialist safety checks to make sure these areas stay safe and clean throughout the summer holidays.

You may also have noticed maintenance works taking place on building exteriors, paths, or parking areas. Summer is a prime time for completing planned works such as:

• Painting and repair of external building features
• Roof inspections and minor repairs
• Resurfacing and pathway improvements

These projects are often scheduled months in advance and funded via reserve budgets, helping to keep our developments in great shape without unexpected costs.

So, if you’ve noticed your local green spaces looking a little sharper, your play area cleaner, or your communal spaces better maintained, it’s all part of the work happening quietly (and not-so-quietly!) behind the scenes.
