Reducing Textile Waste, One Drop at a Time

A new clothes bank has recently been installed at our Barking Riverside development, offering residents a simple and sustainable way to donate unwanted textiles and clothing.

Located on the Northgate side of the estate, the bank is free to use and provided through a partnership with Traid, a UK charity working to reduce the environmental and social impact of the fashion industry.

This new facility offers a convenient drop-off point for:

  • Unwanted clothing
  • Shoes
  • Textiles

“It’s a small step with a big impact,” says Anthony Hanchard, Estate Manager at Barking Riverside. “By making it easier for residents to donate, we’re helping reduce waste and support a circular economy, all while keeping the estate cleaner and greener.”

Sustainability at Barking Riverside

Whether you're having a seasonal wardrobe clear-out or just looking to give items a second life, all residents are encouraged to make use of the new clothes bank.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support sustainable living in our communities.
